No Jethro Tull visit

Hopes of British band Jethro Tull and front man Ian Anderson visiting Dunedin later this year have been dashed.

Concert promoter Stewart Macpherson, of Stetson Group, said his company had been in negotiations to bring the band to the Regent Theatre on December 17.

However, Jethro Tull's managers confirmed yesterday the band would not be coming, he said.

''They are going to do a second show in Christchurch instead.

''It's largely to do with all the travel arrangements that had already been put in place, and so it just didn't work out to be able to make that change, sadly.''
