A 67-year-old man was arrested in relation to yesterday afternoon’s incident — which reportedly also involved a group of youths — and faces several charges, including for allegedly assaulting police.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to George St about 3.45pm yesterday after a report of disorder involving a group of young people.
Police attended and dispersed the group.
OC (oleoresin capsicum) spray — also known as pepper spray — was deployed in relation to the arrest of a 67-year-old man.
‘‘Three officers were also affected by the spray and received first aid treatment.’’
The man was scheduled to appear in the Dunedin District Court on Thursday charged with obstructing police, resisting police, assaulting police and impeding breathing/blood circulation, the spokeswoman said.
