Port Chalmers whale watchers were sent into a flurry of excitement this afternoon when a pod of orcas was spotted near Deborah Bay.
The sighting posted on the Port Chalmers Facebook page, after which several locals set off to track the whales.
The pod travelled from Deborah Bay to Back Beach, and back again.
