Celebrating their win in the South Island Schools’ Chess Championship, held in Ashburton this week,  are  Otago Boys’ High School  team members (from left) Max Lough (16), Vann Louie (18) and Ryan (17) and Ethan  (16) Lau.

Four teams attended from Otago and 13 from Canterbury, all of which had qualified in earlier regional primary,  intermediate or secondary competitions. 

Logan Park High School finished fourth in the secondary section, Balmacewen Intermediate won its grade and Maori Hill School was third in the primary section.
