The move is a bid by the city council to encourage parking turnover in the area.
New parking fees and time restrictions on parks in Vogel, Crawford and Bond Sts, between Jetty and Police Sts, will be introduced or changed from April 6.
The changes mainly involve changing free time-restricted parking to paid time-restricted parking.
New pay-and-display machines will be installed.
The Dunedin City Council said in a statement that the changes were a result of consultation in 2019, when residents and business owners told the council about issues in the area.
Parks in Vogel, Crawford and Bond Sts will change to $1.50 per hour with a P120 time restriction.
The P5, P30, authorised vehicles only and mobility spaces will remain unchanged.
The 12 free unrestricted parking spaces in Bond St will remain.
There will be an additional four motorcycle parks in Vogel St and nine free all-day spaces will be changed to paid all-day spaces.
The changes do not alter the number of car parking spaces in the area.
