Dunedin poet Peter Olds reads some of his works to "Noticing Peter Olds", a symposium dedicated to his writing, held at the University of Otago yesterday.

The author of eight collections of poems, Olds was a University of Otago Robert Burns Fellow in 1978 and in 2005 he was an inaugural recipient of the Janet Frame Literary Trust Award for Poetry.

At yesterday’s symposium, fellow poets and scholars, including Poet Laureate David Eggleton, spoke on the influence Olds’ works had on their own verse, and discussed his poetry in a critical context.
