Poetry while you wait

Dunedin artist Sheryl McCammon looks at an artwork, a loaf of bread, which was inspired by a poem.

The piece is one in a range that will be on display and for sale as part of Poems in the Waiting Room 2018 at the Resene Colourshop on Crawford St.

Earlier this year, 40 artists were tasked with creating an artwork that reflected a chosen poem, and the results of their work have formed the basis of the exhibition called A Palette of Poetry 2.

Poems in the Waiting Room (NZ) is a Dunedin arts in health charity that, using funds raised and grants, produces poetry on cards to be read by for people waiting for medical appointments, rest-home residents waiting for meals, outings or appointments, hospice patients and their families and prison inmates.

The exhibition will run until October 28.
