Ready to roll

Forty-seven cars participated in the latest tour, organised by the club, which is the Otago branch of the Vintage Car Club of New Zealand.

Club secretary David Ross said participants gathered at the Wingatui Community Hall and later had lunch in Outram.

One of the oldest participating vehicles was an American-made veteran Moon car, built in the United States before 1919.

The event had gone "really well", participants enjoying the sunny weather. Some had come from as far afield as Balclutha, Timaru and Christchurch, he said.
