Icy conditions in the South have led to several roads in the region being closed this morning. Otago Daily Times online staff will keep this article up to date as information becomes available.
City roads
In Dunedin, Fea St, Mt Cargill, and Three Mile Hill were all still closed at midday, the Dunedin City Council advised.
Highways
At 5.45pm, NZTA was advising of the following road closures and warnings:
State Highway 94 Te Anau to Milford Sound (lower Hollyford turnoff to Milford Sound): Closed
State Highway 94 Te Anau to Milford Sound (Plate Hill to lower Hollyford turnoff): Closed to towing vehicles, chains must be carried
State Highway 87 Outram to Kyeburn: Closed to towing vehicles.
Crown Range: Open, carry chains
Motorists were advised to watch for grit and ice in shaded areas, and those planning to cross alpine passes or travel in Central Otago should carry chains.

Wanaka
Odt Wanaka reporter Marjorie Cook says conditions in the town are much the same as yesterday, which she described as a ''cold winter's day'', and roads are open, though ice is present in places.
