Piper Dugald Mackay leads the parade around the Portobello Domain on Saturday, scene of the colourful annual Portobello A&P Show.

It was a particularly big day for Ravensbourne Pony Club rider Maia Robertson (9, left), who won seven ribbons in her first A&P show.

Other attractions included stalls, classic and custom cars, a merry-go-round and a miniature petting zoo.

The Portobello A&P Show was started in 1876, by William Larnach and is one of the oldest agricultural and pastoral events in New Zealand.
