Students got off to an early start celebrating St Patrick's Day this morning.
Small gatherings of partying costumed students were seen in Castle St and Leith St from about 8am.

Last year's St Patrick's day was marked by rowdy behaviour in North Dunedin, with Lime scooters torched at a large, boozy party.
The poor behaviour on the day was noted in the university's discipline report for last year.
