After six years of community work, the Taieri blokes have ''outgrown'' their old shed and upgraded to a larger, refurbished home at the Taieri Aero Club.
The new and improved shed is about three times the size of the old one, giving more scope to the work they can do.
The Taieri Blokes' Shed officially opened on Saturday when president Ian Miller gave some acknowledgments, followed by some words from original president Bob Biggart.
Mayor Dave Cull attended.
Mr Miller said space in the old shed had become limited with the growing number of members and it was becoming a safety issue.
''We can now tackle more at once.''
Previously the blokes had been limited to about one to two projects a week, and now, depending on the size of the projects, they were hoping to get about five to six done.
''We can spread numbers around.''
The group, based in Taieri Aero Club facilities, have moved from the old air hangar shed to the stables block, but the new shed needed a lot of work.
In true Taieri Blokes' Shed fashion, group members did the refurbishing themselves, doing the rewiring, putting in a new ceiling and additional walls, plastering and painting the inside, jobs that took them a year.
With a larger home and slowly growing in members, the group would now have the opportunity to open a third day a week.
''The potential is there to grow a bit more,'' Mr Miller said.
The group did all of its work in the shed, so as long as it could fit in the shed the group would give it a crack, he said.
Following the opening, the Taieri blokes had a meeting with Neil McArthur, of the Alexandra men's shed, and discussed the methods of running their sheds.
Mr Miller said it was a great way to ''feed off each other''.
''We are always looking for ways to improve and better the shed as we go,'' he said.
