It was an adventure gone wrong for two Dunedin teenagers on Saturday afternoon.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) and police were called to assist the two youths, who were stuck on the roof of a George St building.

A police spokeswoman said police were called at 12.45pm after a report that two children had climbed up on a roof and refused to come down.

She said the job was then updated to say the children were stuck.

‘‘Fenz assisted us to get the children off the roof and they were taken home by police.’’

Two fire appliances and police attended the incident.

Firefighters gained access to the back of the building through a garage in Moray Pl and used a ladder to rescue the children.

Comments

I hope they received a caution from the police about their trespassing. Also, they/their parents should pay for the costs of call out of the emergency services. Decisions should have consequences. A teenager knows the difference between right and wrong.
