Weatherston details 'R18 comments'

Clayton Weatherston has described what he called R18 comments Sophie Elliottt wrote on notes he was using while giving a lecture to an economics class in September, 2007.

The notes made sexual references and were unexpected. But they ''certainly livened up the material'', Weatherston told the jury on the 14th day of his trial for Miss Elliott's murder.

He stabbed her to death at her home on January 9 last year but denies murdering her, the defence arguing he was provoked into losing control.

The first comment he saw was ''Do you want to........ me?'' Weatherston said. He noticed it as he was giving the lecture to a class of between 25 and 30 students

Othet comments included ''Sophie's thinking about .......

''Clayton is ....now

''I like.......'' comment

''Stop .......thoughts''

''I am......right now.''

and ''I crave .......'' with a smiley face at the end.

He believed Sophie wanted him to see the comments about what she was thinking sexually, while he was giving his lecture.

They were ''a bit off-putting'' but quite sexy, Weatherston said. Although they were close physically, he found the comments ''a bit intrusive in that environment''.

Weatherston also talked today about how he was uncomfortable with the way Sophie made detailed comparisons about the ''sexual organs'' of her partners.

''I'm fortunate in that regard,'' he said. But he told the court it was ''almost like she didn't want me to be too sexually confident because I might go elsewhere.'' He saw it as almost a form of emasculation.

''She was very explicit about what her former partners had done and what she wanted me to do.

''I think she was extremely concerned I wasn't as enthusiastic sexually as she wanted and what she was used to.

''She needed continual reassurance by having long sex sessions.''
