Police are investigating assaults which occurred near the intersection of Cumberland and Dundas Sts, in Dunedin, in July.
Police want to speak to witnesses after a group of female students was attacked by up to six youths, believed to be female, in North Dunedin in July.

A photograph of the incident was released yesterday by police, who asked the public for help identifying any witnesses to the attack.

The assailants were thought to be female, a police spokeswoman said.

Two young females from the group were at present on bail in relation to the attacks, she said.

The attack resulted in three people being taken to hospital, one with serious injuries and two with minor injuries.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Cumberland and Dundas Sts on July 31, about 10.35pm.

Police were keen to contact a group of young men in a black Ford Ranger ute, who pulled over to help the victims.

The witnesses had recently been identified as police obtained CCTV footage of the attack.
