Airlines resume flights

Air New Zealand resumed flights to Queenstown yesterday, with one from Auckland arriving at midday.

Air New Zealand public affairs manager Marie Hosking said the airline would continue to monitor and assess the danger posed by the Chilean volcanic ash cloud, but flights ran as normal through yesterday afternoon.

Qantas last night decided to restart its weekly Sydney return flight today.

Jetstar flights to Christchurch were expected to resume last night.
