Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox's favourite bakery is cleaning up after an apparent break-in attempt.
Rollers Bakery on Auckland North Shore had queues out the door last month after Fox gave it a shoutout following his British Open win.
On Saturday the bakery said on social media "someone attempted to break in by kicking in our front doors and smashing a window".
"We can't physically open our doors due to damage," a post on its Facebook page said.
"They didn't steal anything or damage inside the shop.
"We appreciate all the messages but we don't need help cleaning up or anything. Just going to go through insurance steps and/organising glass/door repair."
One fan of the bakery said on the post the "urge for foxy pies is too great for some people it seems".
The 'Foxy', named after the golfer, is a steak, bacon jam and cheese pie.
Fox had been a regular customer for just over a year, co-owner Tamara Tait told RNZ's Morning Report in July.
"He's just super humble and comes in and grabs his pie usually like, when he's landed from the airport."
Fox did just that after getting home after his British Open win, she said. They had sold out of pies by then, but she kept a couple aside for him.
