Firefighters are dampening down hotspots at a North Shore engineering business on the that when up in flames last night.
The alarm was raised at 9.25pm at Giant Engineering in Anvil Road, Silverdale, a northern fire communications spokesman told NZPA.
Four trucks and about 20 firefighters fought the blaze after having troubling gaining access to the single storey building.
Firefighters had brought the flames under control by about 10.45pm.
It was believed no other buildings were threatened, and the cause of the fire was not yet known.
