Counties Manukau police have named the man killed in a head-on crash with a truck at Maungatawhiri on Monday.
He was 24-year-old Jean Alain Morvan, of Glenfield.
Mr Morvan died at the scene of the accident on State Highway 2.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw Mr Morvan's silver Toyota Cynos, registration BAB912, between 9pm-10.30pm on Monday.
It would have been travelling south from the North Shore on SH1 and on to SH2. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Neil Holyoake of the Counties Manukau police Serious Crash Unit on 09 261 1300.
