Two men are seriously injured after falling about 20 metres from Lion Rock in Piha early this morning.
Police were called at 12.20am after the two men, believed to be in their 30s, fell onto rocks below the volcanic neck.
A third man had accompanied them in climbing Lion Rock, police said.
The two injured men were taken to Auckland Hospital by helicopter.
Police were investigating the incident, and what had caused the men to fall.
