The estranged wife of internet tycoon Kim Dotcom has broken her silence about their separation in an "explosive tell-all" interview with a New Zealand women's magazine.

The stunning Filipina ex-model and mother of five spoke to Woman's Day about the relationship breakdown, revealing she lives 50m from her ex in a cottage on the grounds of the $50 million Coatesville mansion they shared, giving stability for the children.

A photo of the 25-year-old adorns the cover and inside she is in a variety of photos for the six-page spread, which features family photographs.

Mrs Dotcom said how she secretly fled the mansion late one night in May in a golf cart to meet a friend at the fence line of the property.

"We had an amazing life where I was his princess and when you're 19 or 20, that's cool. But then you grow up and want to explore the world and it doesn't work any more," she told Woman's Day.

She described the relationship as a "Cinderella story" with the opulent lifestyle at the side of Dotcom, 40, vastly different from a tough childhood tainted by abuse and spent living with different relatives.

"I was only 17 or 18 when we met and I had a difficult childhood, as he did. He gave me emotional security."

She is preparing to study business at Massey University next month.
