A Feilding man described by a judge as a "monster in his own home" has been jailed for four years.
Mare Maxwell, 24, appeared in Feilding District Court before Judge Gerard Lynch yesterday, the Manawatu Standard reported.
The court was told that between 2004 and 2009, Maxwell had kicked his pregnant partner in the stomach, pushed her over while she was holding their baby before kicking her in the groin with steel-capped boots and had assaulted each of his three children with his hand or a wooden spoon, leaving bruising.
Injuries to Maxwell's partner as a result of the assaults included bruising, back pain, internal bleeding and a urethral problem.
