New Zealander Geoffrey King has reportedly been drugged and robbed at the same Thai resort where the Kiwi world croquet president was murdered.
King, 55, was allegedly drugged and then had his passport, hotel key card, credit card, airline ticket, NZ$2500 and 1300 baht stolen by a Thai woman, the Pattaya Daily News reported.
He woke up in his hotel room at Pullman Pattaya Aisawan Resort several hours after drinking beer and falling unconscious and was taken to hospital, the report said.
King, a chief executive of an international import-export businesses, is understood to have met the woman at a department store and took her back to his hotel room last Thursday.
Police found a piece of paper in his hotel room with a woman's name on it and reviewed the hotel's security footage, according to the report.
A doctor at the hospital said King had been poisoned with a "strong sleeping agent''.
The resort is about 165km southeast of Bangkok and was the scene of the murder of World Croquet Federation president Charles Jones last month.
He was staying at the resort while on holiday on his way back from the World Golf Croquet Championships in London.
When he did not return calls, a friend went to his room and found him dead after what appeared to have been a knife attack.
