Person trapped after Southland crash

One person is trapped following a crash between a four-wheel-drive and a car in Southland tonight.

Senior sergeant Brian Benn, of Dunedin, said the person had a suspected broken leg and emergency services were working to free them from the vehicle.

The fire service, St John, police and an Otago regional rescue helicopter were at the scene he said.

The crash happened on Glencoe Highway, between Mataura and Hedgehope, Snr Sgt Benn said.
