Where are they now?
KELLY WHITTEN
2012: Whitten was vice-captain of the Southland girls’ rugby team and represented Southland in hockey. She planned to become a lawyer.
2022: A family lawyer in Cairns, Whitten moved to Australia two years ago after starting her legal career in Dunedin. As well as her law degree, she has an arts degree majoring in indigenous development. She only plays sport socially as she is enjoying spending her spare time exploring Far North Queensland.
MARK GOW
2012: Gow excelled academically and held a range of trap shooting titles from district, regional and national tournaments. He had his sights set on a career in building science.
2022: Gow runs his own construction company, MK94 Construction, in Christchurch. After leaving school, he gained a bachelor of building science and a national certificate in carpentry and became a licensed building practitioner. He is no longer involved in trap shooting but still enjoys hunting and leads a church youth group.
