One person has suffered critical injuries in a crash on Mavora Lakes Rd in Southland. 

A police spokesperson said they were called to the scene of the single-vehicle crash at about 2pm. 

The spokesperson said the crash happened on the stretch of road between Centre Hill Rd and Mount Nicholas Rd, which is in the vicinity of the Kiwi Burn track carpark. 

Mavora Lakes Rd is closed while emergency services are attending.
