One person is critically injured after a crash near Mataura this morning. 

A police spokeswoman said they were called to a single-vehicle crash on Old Coach Rd (SH93) at about 7.55am today. 

A vehicle had overturned near the intersection with Cameron Rd. 

One person suffered critical injuries in the crash. 

SH93 is now closed between Mataura and Clinton.

Road users are advised to avoid the area and use an alternative route.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
