Pink Pussy flat hosts Pink Ribbon Breakfast

As a student flat of seven girls, we wanted to do something good in the midst of all our busy lives and to take a step towards helping others.

Seeing that May is Pink Ribbon breakfast month we thought what better way to lift our spirits from study, than to host a Pink Ribbon breakfast to raise money for breast cancer in New Zealand. An important cause close to our hearts.

We have currently raised just over $1000 which is such a cool achievement from everyone's support. Coming together as a community of students helped raise awareness for breast cancer.

Along with this, the funds raised go towards the vital research that goes into breast cancer, trying to improve lives and ultimately make zero deaths from breast cancer in New Zealand a reality. Considering our flat name we thought it was perfectly fitting to host such a fun event and great cause in our own pink living room.

University life can be a bit hard sometimes and can cause people to feel run down or miss home, but doing things like these and bringing people together for good shows that we've all got each others back and try to continue to support each other in some kind of way. Even if it's just over a coffee and pink iced bun.

For now we get back to our studies but we think this will have to become an annual thing for the Pink Pussy flat.
