The music-comedy collective, which must be the only orchestra in the world who can stash all their instruments in overhead lockers on aeroplanes, have announced their debut gig in the resort as part of a three-date "I Love You ... " tour of the South.
Featuring up to a dozen ukuleles and a double bass, the orchestra juxtaposes heavenly harmonies and stunning solos against budget special effects, madcap antics and questionable banter.
The uke-toting guys and girls from the windy city play a concert suitable for all ages in the Queenstown Memorial Hall on March 8. The gig follows their show in Invercargill on March 6 and precedes their show in Dunedin on March 9.
All tickets cost $38 plus booking fee. All ticketing information is at www.ukulele.co.nz.
