Police are investigating the theft of a hatchback taken from the Dunedin suburb of Maori Hill twice in six weeks.
In the most recent incident, the red 2004 Toyota Corolla was taken from a property in Grater St between 7.15pm on Tuesday and 8.10am yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said the first time, the keys were stolen.
When the car was recovered, its ignition was changed but the door locks remained as is.
"There's a pretty good chance, the person responsible for taking it the first time have come back,'' Snr Sgt Waru said.
