High country artist Norman Sinclair.

Renowned high-country artist Norman Sinclair will spend a weekend in the Clutha area next month, teaching aspiring artists the tricks and techniques to create their own masterpieces.

The Romahapa School fund-raiser, "A Weekend of Watercolour Painting", will be held on September 6 and 7.

Sinclair will hold a two-day class at the school from 9am to 4.30pm both days and provide participants with the ideas and skills they need to create their own art work.

School principal Mark Preddy said the school was excited about the chance to provide such a popular artist to the Clutha art community.

Beginners through to experts were welcome but the event was limited to the first 25 to book.

High-quality paper and paints will be supplied, and all meals, including a barbecue on the Saturday night.

The cost for the weekend is $150.

Registrations and more details are available by contacting the school on (03) 412-8849 or emailing principal@romahapa.school.nz.
