Disorder between two motorists leads to arrest

A 33-year-old Invercargill man has been arrested following a road rage incident in Alexandra yesterday.

The incident took place just before noon at the roundabout at the intersection of Centennial Ave and Clutha St.

A police spokesman said police were advised of disorder between two motorists. A man had his vehicle’s wing mirror knocked off and was spat at. Police located the offending vehicle.

The police spokesman said a 33-year-old Invercargill man had been charged with driving with excess breath-alcohol, assault and wilful damage, and will appear in the Alexandra District Court next month.The victim was unhurt but shaken, and has been offered Victim Support.
