Mother Nature ignoring calendar

Winter may not be fully done with in Central Otago as some snow fell in the Maniototo yesterday.

A Central Otago District Council spokeswoman said there had been flurries in St Bathans and the wider Maniototo region.

Snowfall was reported earlier in the week in the Naseby, Oturehua and St Bathans areas as temperatures dropped to about 0-1degC across the district.

The roof of the historic stone cottage at Hills Creek, near Oturehua, had a light coating following the snowfall yesterday, while

snow featured prominently on the Maniototo landscape as viewed from State Highway 85.
