Mum's the word as scene for TV series filmed in town

The  windows of an Alexandra pub are blacked out for filming, and the production inside is being kept a tightly guarded secret.

A scene for Australian television show Wanted was shot in the Criterion Hotel yesterday, and will continue today.

The production's spokeswoman, Tamar Munch, said other filming locations were secret, as they were "all storyline related''.

The production was based in Queenstown and would film in ``a number of South Island locations''.

The crew were predominantly New Zealanders and the cast was a mix of New Zealand and Australian actors, she said.

The production sourced local extras to act in the bar scene from auditions in the town held earlier this month.

It is the second series of the show, which co-stars New-Zealand born Rebecca Gibney, who doubles as one of its creators.
