Secrecy surrounds a film crew which is in Central Otago for a week to shoot a television commercial.
Confidentiality agreements signed by crew members prevented them from naming the film company, the advertising agency or the product being promoted, a crew member told the Otago Daily Times yesterday.
''That's very typical for this type of project, to keep things well under wraps at this stage,'' she said. All would be revealed when the advertisement screened at the end of this month.
The crew started filming in Arrowtown last week, then moved to Omakau and Poolburn, and is now based near Alexandra for a couple of days, the crew member said.
Most of the filming work was taking place outside in ''rural locations'' with only a few days of filming inside, she said.
Asked whether noise from duck shooting had caused any problems for the crew, she said it had not, but it was difficult for the 40 strong crew to get accommodation near the filming locations: ''and that might've been because it was opening weekend of duck shooting''.
The crew was impressed with the autumn colours, the beautiful scenery and settled weather and would be keen to film again in the area, she said.
