Stocking up on reading

Sophie Griffin, of Earnscleugh, and Susan St Clair-Newman, of Omakau, grab as many novels as they can carry at the Alexandra Rotary Book Sale yesterday.Ms Griffin said the haul would ``possibly'' last her the whole year. When the load became too much she said ``let's drop these off at the car, and then come back''. Hundreds of others also scoured the Alexandra Community Centre on the first day of the 29th annual sale. It will continue every day until Friday and proceeds will help fund community projects.
