One person suffered serious injuries and two moderate injuries after a two-car crash near Cromwell last night.
The vehicles collided on the Tarras-Cromwell Rd just before 7pm.
State Highway 8 was blocked near the Central Otago town for a time.
Police initially received information suggesting one person suffered moderate injuries, but St John said this morning three patients were transported to Dunstan Hospital.
One suffered serious injuries and two moderate injuries, St John said.
A rescue helicopter also attended the crash.
