Hundreds of people found vantage points on a grassy bank in Lawrence on Saturday evening to enjoy a free concert marking the 25th anniversary of Lawrence business Tuapeka Gold Print.
The entertainment was organised by Rotorua couple Jo and Mike Romanes, who own the restored former Presbyterian church "The Churrch" in Lawrence.
Held in the natural amphitheatre between "The Churrch" and Jafa Motels, the concert had an '80s theme and featured tribute performances to '80s pop stars Madonna, Elton John and Tina Turner.
Other tribute artists honoured the music of Britney Spears, Whitney Houston and Abba.
Senior Constable Robert Wallace, of Lawrence, said there were no problems at the concert, which was a "good family event".
Tuapeka Gold Print was founded in 1987 by Jim Robertson, who started printing business cards at home on the kitchen table. The company has grown significantly and now employs 70 people, a large portion of the town's population of 400.
In May 2007, Mr Robertson was joined in business by Brad Houghton, who brought in fresh ideas and new skills with his background in engineering.
On Saturday night, businessman Sir Michael Hill presented the pair with a plaque to mark the milestone, saying Lawrence had risen up around the business.
Mr Robertson thanked the Clutha district for its support over the past 25 years.
"People want this business to succeed."
He said the team at Tuapeka Gold Print included some of the best printers in the world.
"It's that real Lawrence work ethic that has kept us in good stead ... It's a special effort in a place like Lawrence."
Tuapeka Gold Print officially turns 25 on December 17.
