Mr Julian (29) was the son of Dr Jill Stanley and John Julian, of Earnscleugh, near Alexandra.
It is understood he died in his sleep overnight at the family home on July 13.
Mr Julian was the co-founder and chief executive of Novedo Marketing.
Its website said he was a specialist in launching startups, and had taken several from small businesses to multimillion-dollar corporations.
He had previous roles at Communify and Xceed.
Mr Julian attended school in Nelson and Barcelona and later studied at Cardiff University.
