‘Moderate injuries’ as car, tractor collide

The damage looked bad but a driver was spared serious injury after tangling with a tractor in Oamaru yesterday.

A police media statement said they were called to State Highway 1 (Thames Highway) in Oamaru after a tractor and a car collided about 1.20pm.

"Moderate injuries were reported to one person and ambulance services responded at the scene, taking them to hospital," a police spokseperson said.

The road was blocked for a time, but was cleared about 2pm.
