All hail the spring weather

Oamaru went from spring to midwinter in one brief flash yesterday when a thunderstorm brought heavy hail.

Pedestrians, including Oamaru librarian Jean Rivett, and motorists made their way gingerly through a white covering on the roads.

The storm lasted for about 15 minutes, hail stripping leaves and small branches from the trees in Thames St.
