More than 300 people are expected to attend the celebration at the Oamaru Club, with representatives from each group bringing traditional fare from their island for a buffet-style dinner.
The entertainment will include performers as young as 3 and it was an opportunity for young people to highlight their culture.
It was "awesome" to combine the different cultures, one of the organisers, Sene Fanene said.
