Christmas tree put away

Christmas is officially over. Network Waitaki dismantled its 10m artificial conifer in Thames St yesterday morning. The tree in Kurow was also removed. The workers snipped the cables from the top of the tree and carefully pulled each string of lights away by moving the cherry picker bucket down the tree. They were then fed down to workers on the ground, who organised the cables. The artificial branches were taken from the top down to expose the metal fame, which was taken apart piece by piece. All the work was done under grey cloud and dreary rain.
