The Waitaki District Council is preparing to mark Waitangi Day, February 6, in collaboration with Te Runanga o Moeraki.
The two entities "are proud to come together in partnership to host a day of reflection, connection and community," a joint statement from the council and runanga said.
"Our shared goal is to honour the significance of Waitangi Day, its history, its lessons and its role in shaping the Waitaki district into the diverse and collaborative place we call home.
"Waitangi Day offers an important moment for all of us to acknowledge the stories and relationships that have shaped our district, to celebrate our shared future and to strengthen the partnership between mana whenua and the wider Waitaki community.
