Farm fire checked

Fire service investigations are continuing into the cause of a fire in Weston Rd early yesterday.

At 1.44am, the Weston Volunteer Fire Brigade was called to a fire in an implement shed in Weston Rd.

Weston Cief Fire Officer Bevan Koppert said a three-wheel motorcycle and a John Deere tractor were alight.

The motorcycle was burned beyond repair, but Mr Koppert expected the tractor could be fixed.

''There was a bit of smoke damage [to the shed] and a couple of poles were a bit charred,'' he said.

''At this stage, we don't know what started it.''

Overall, it was a ''good save'', Mr Koppert said.

The Weston Volunteer Fire Brigade brought one engine and one tanker to the scene.

It spent about an hour and 15 minutes putting out the fire.

A Fire Safety officer was at the scene yesterday, continuing an investigation into the cause of the fire.
