Lifestyle block seminar

Lifestyle and small block owners are invited to attend a seminar organised by the Otago Regional Council at Weston this month.

People would learn about climatic and soil conditions to help them get the most out of their land, environmental information and science director Dr John Threlfall said.

Speakers will include Marian Shore, from the Waitaki Resource Recovery Trust, and Murray Harris, from Land and Forest Consultants Ltd.

Topics will include climate, soil and crop information, recycling options for waste disposal, farm forestry and shelter belts, and options for protection and enhancement of biodiversity.

The meeting will be held at the Weston Hall on November 19 from 7.30pm.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

You can help us continue to bring you local news you can trust by becoming a supporter.
