The trend of pharmacy services being removed from suburbs and country towns throughout New Zealand is about to be reversed in Waikouaiti.
The new Waikouaiti health depot will be owned and operated by Adrian Graamans, of the Waihemo pharmacy, at Palmerston.
The health depot, opening on Monday, will be open from 10am to 5pm on weekdays.
The new depot in the Waikouaiti Events centre would be managed by trained pharmacy technician Ms Claire Gatenby, of Waikouaiti.
A range of core health lines would be stocked, including some items which traditionally were pharmacy-only medicines.
Waikouaiti Health centre prescriptions could be faxed to the Waihemo Pharmacy and couriered to the depot.
