Police called in after Shag Point fire

Police have been called to the scene of a fire near Shag Point this morning.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said three fire crews from Palmerston were called to the scene on State Highway 1 at 8.16am, to reports of a shed, truck, and digger on fire.

Crews were dampening down by 8.56am, he said.

Both police and a fire investigator were en route, he said.
