A future is still being sought for the former Presbyterian church at Hampden.
The church is no longer required for services within the Otepopo-Maheno Presbyterian parish.
A community barbecue will be held on the church grounds in London St this Saturday, from 4pm to 6 pm, a spokesperson for the Presbyterian church steering group, Jennifer Black, said.
People would be invited to suggest community uses for the church.
Two public meetings were held last year to discuss uses for the church and a steering group was set up.
