Four Australian men have been arrested on an assortment of assault, disorderly behaviour and wilful damage charges following two violent incidents in downtown Queenstown early yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka said an 18-year-old man allegedly attacked a bar's doorman and duty manager with ''punches, grabs and kicks'' about 1.30am after being asked to leave because of intoxication.
In the second incident, which involved three friends at Winnie's Bar about 2.30am, an 18-year-old was arrested and charged with wilful damage after allegedly smashing a window when he was asked to leave because of intoxication.
His 21-year-old associate was charged with assault after he allegedly punched a doorman in the face after being asked to leave.
A third man (19) was charged with disorderly behaviour after obstructing police during the arrests.
• Sen Sgt Enoka said a 29-year-old British national living in Queenstown allegedly gave a breath-alcohol reading of 1205mcg, almost five times the drink-drive limit, when he was stopped on Frankton Rd about 12.30am yesterday.
All five men are expected to appear in court next Monday.
